Introducing our Brown Bag Honey Tasting Contest!
If you have a delectable honey that you believe deserves recognition, why not enter it into the Bee Fun Day competition? Participating in our Brown Bag Honey contest can be a fantastic opportunity to showcase your beekeeping skills and the unique flavors of your honey.
Using a 1 lb queenline jar, select up to 5 jars of your most flavorful natural honey, this can be dark, amber or light honey and fill the jar(s). No artificially flavored honeys please.
Bring your honey to the Bee Fun Day wrapped in a brown paper bag, a small lunch bag is a good size for the queenline jars. Write your name (location of the source apiary is optional), on the outside of the bag.
Complete the entry form during the morning registration at the Bee Fun Day event on September 10th. Honey will be judged during the lunch hour and winners announced during the Q&A Session at 4PM. Prizes will be awarded to the top three honey entries.

About the event
The booth is located in the Fonner Park Grandstand Concourse, Grand Island, NE. Enter from South Locust Street. Â Turn east into the general parking area. Â If you work on weekends or Labor Day, be sure to allow time to reach the booth at your scheduled time. Â These are busy days and frequently there are lines of cars waiting to get into the fairgrounds. Â If you are delayed or unable to work your scheduled time, please call
There are many things you can do. At the booth there will be honey ice cream, extracted honey, creamed honey, beeswax items, bottled water, honey candy, books and t-shirts to sell. Â There will be recipes to pass out. Â You will be asked how many times you have been stung, so give it some thought and have a good answer ready. Â Fair-goers look forward to seeing the bees and learning about them. Â There will be aprons with the association logo for you to wear. Â Caps and tee shirts with a bee logo or your Association t-shirt are nice to wear if you have them. Â I encourage you to bring cards with your name and address. Â Many people will want to start buying honey from the beekeepers they talk to at the fair.
Thank you for volunteering to help with the booth. Â We look forward to seeing you at the fair. Â Our building is air conditioned, so you will bee cool!
